Dear Aunty Lisa,
I’m a very bitter young man. I’m 16 years old and I have been dating my girlfriend for the past 3 months. I have been very honest and faithful to her but recently I was diagnosed of a sexually transmitted infection after I had sex with her. Since we both go to school, we usually meet during weekends and that’s when we will have sex.
Two weeks ago she went to her rural areas and we didn’t sleep together that weekend. Last week we had sex on Saturday and a few days later some scary pimpled emerged on my manhood. I visited a male clinic where I was told that I contracted a sexually transmitted infection. When I confronted my girlfriend, she professed her ignorance and gravely denied ever cheating on me. She said while she was at the rural ears she was bathing with other girls in a river, and maybe that’s where she could have contracted the sexually transmitted infection from.
I have never been to a rural area aunty, so I don’t know much about it. I now need your help because I’m now confused. I love my girlfriend and I wanted to get married to her after finishing school, but is she telling me the truth that she was infected through washing her private parts in a rural area river?
