Hi Aunty Lisa

I am a man aged 31 and never married. I started masturbating at the age of 16 and I am trying to stop but I am failing totally. If my girlfriend is around I enjoy sex so much with her and I don’t masturbate but when she leaves the spirit of masturbation comes back. How can I stop this addiction and will I be able to enjoy sex and impregnate a woman when I get married if it continues like this.

Please assist.

RESPONSE:

Dear friend,

Thanks for reaching out to Aunty Lisa for help. You have done a good thing to seek professional counselling and advice. Well, medically, masturbating is not a bad thing. Certain doctors actually recommend that men and women who can’t have sex due to circumstances beyond their control, should rather masturbate than to seek the services of prostitutes or untrusted and non-faithful boyfriends/girlfriends.

Scientists on the other hand have proved that masturbating has the same effect with having sex – they are both good for a sexually active person’s health. Both sex and masturbating can heal several inflictions such as headache, stress, flue etc.

Let me also assure you that you will definitely be able to impregnate your partner – when the right time comes. Masturbating does not really affect your reproductive system, though it may even cure early ejaculation problems in some cases. It’s a good thing that you do have a girlfriend, at least you know the difference of satisfaction between real sex and masturbation. I have seen a lot of men who love masturbating, some of them would do it three times a day, all year round, but that stopped soon after getting married. 99.9{863ae21f3883e951777bdbc8607717246c41fed58c5a71d477243a35f9718ce7} chances are that once you get married you will immediately stop masturbating too.

Lastly, according to some quarters of Christianity, masturbating is a form of fornication, and that is against the word of God. So if you are a believer, you may need to get married and enjoy sex with your wife all day long than ‘doing it with your own hands’.

NB: There have been a claims that masturbating causes visual impairment, while personally I don’t believe in sexual satisfaction through masturbation, however, let me take this opportunity to dismiss such claims and reveal that scientifically masturbation has neither positive nor negative effects on one’s eyesight.

As you are 31, I recommend that you start considering seriously about getting married, and make sure you marry the best. Wish you all the best.

Yours

Aunty Lisa
